ROLLING STOCK 2

This wagon was derailed and abandoned near the 96 mile Main Camp on the Lakewood line.

This was a water carrying wagon. This is the wooden water tank, the wagon underframe is to the left.

Probably abandoned in the last days of operation, this wagon is about 114 miles by rail from Lakewood.

This pile of ash and cinders is the remains of a wagon loaded with wood burnt out about 2 miles south of the 102 mile Main Camp on the Lakewood line. Fires started by embers from the wood burning steam locomotives were a constant hazard on the woodlines. The sleepers of the main line can be seen going through the gap in the trees to the left of the pic.

An axle box cover and a well worn brake shoe.
