RAILWAY REMAINS 2
I wonder what bent a length of 45 lb rail like this.
This is a points operating lever
near the 96 mile Main Camp, Lakewood line.
A line of rotting sleepers on
the mainline is slowly being reclaimed by the bush, Lakewood line.
A piece of line still in place.
Point rail near a crossing loop
about 108 miles from Lakewood.
Here everything has been
bulldozed into a heap to make a vehicle track along the old main line.
Nearby, the scrapman obviously had no
need for this big heap of fish plates.
This long and deep cutting is on a spur line which runs east from the
main line about 95 miles south of Lakewood. It would have taken a lot
of effort to excavate it. I found this cutting by studying the area on
